Exhaustion

There are various reasons why someone might experience chronic fatigue. What you might not know is that this in addition to both mental and muscle weakness, memory loss, and confusion can be caused by liver damage. Both exhaustion and chronic fatigue negatively impact an individual’s quality of life. Even more frightening is the fat that liver damage can cause someone to enter a coma. Some research has found that both exhaustion and fatigue are actually the number #1 sign of liver damage. However, further research is needed in order to better understand the relation between liver damage and these symptoms.

There is some evidence that exhaustion and fatigue may be caused by a change in brain chemistry and/or hormone levels which can result from impaired functioning of the liver. More specifically, when an individual’s corticotrophins, serotonin, and noradrenaline levels are altered, they can negatively impact energy levels. In addition, when toxic by-products are not efficiently eliminated from the body, the end result can also be fatigue. If this sounds similar to your experience, speak to your doctor so that they can hopefully help you determine the cause.
