Heart Murmurs in Children
Heart murmurs are usually more prevalent in children than they are in adults and can be very dangerous. An enlargement of the lungs or liver can be an indicator that the heart is not working as it should be. This swelling is usually the result of the heart’s inability to efficiently pump blood throughout the body. If you have any reason to believe that your child has a swollen liver and/or lungs, seek medical help right away as they may be experiencing what is known as cardiomyopathy, which can be fatal if not treated.
