Neighborhood Sports Tournament
Think of the neighborhood sports tournament as Field Day reinvented. Instead of pitting classes against one another, the neighborhood competes for some kind of award. This could be a gift certificate to the grocery store, a bag of goodies, or even something as simple as lawn maintenance. The key is getting everyone together to have a good time.
Nothing pumps kids up for physical activity like a healthy dose of competition with family and friends. Pick games that children and adults of all ages can enjoy, like short sprints, cross-country jogs, Frisbee, badminton, corn hole, kickball, baseball, and more. You can reserve a neighborhood baseball diamond to bring everyone together, or you can even meet up at someone’s backyard or a park. After the activities are done, you can bring all the participants together for some barbecue and a bonfire.
