Biking
Biking is two things: An exercise and a form of transportation. As exercise, cycling delivers a host of benefits, including less depression and anxiety; maintenance of a healthy weight or progressive weight loss; building muscle that is long and lean; increasing lung capacity and lung health; cutting heart disease and cancer risk; and much more.
In terms of transportation, biking can help you and the kids get around town without ever hopping in the car. You can go to the local park to enjoy a picnic, ride to the supermarket to get snacks, or just ride around the neighborhood. If you have younger kids, they can always hop on their bikes to meet their friends; and older children will enjoy having a breath of independence.
