Lutein And Zeaxanthin
Lutein and zeaxanthin are both carotenoids. They are plant compounds that result in the color that plants are. In healthy individuals, they are both abundant in the macula and allow for fine detail vision. They can also lower an individual’s risk of advanced macular degeneration as well as cataracts. They are both found in foods like kale, spinach, and egg yolks.
