Vitamin A
Vitamin A helps with a whole slew of things including vision, bone growth, and immune health. It is also beneficial in protecting the eye’s surface, mucous membranes, and skin. It aids in limiting the ability of viruses and bacteria to be able to cause infections, including those of the eyes, and breathing problems. It also helps to protect the cornea and the lubrication of the eye. In conjunction with other nutrients mentioned here, it can actually limit one’s chances of vision loss that is caused by macular degeneration. Food high in vitamin A include beef and chicken liver, whole milk and cheese, carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, and cantaloupe.
