Music Helps
Researchers from the University of Florence found that there is a connection between listening to soothing music while concentration on breath and a healthy blood circulation. A study done on 28 hypertension patients for a week shows that when these patients listened to soothing Celtic, Indian and Classical tunes while also taking hypertension medication, they registered a 3.2 drop in the blood pressure. When this was done for a month the pressure dropped by 4.4 points. This research also highlights the connection between breathing patterns especially during rest and the high blood pressure. People who have Obstructive Sleep Apnea are more likely to have hypertension. Hypertension in this case is triggered by the breathing interruptions during rest. This interruption in proper rest also leads to increased weight, daytime fatigue, and hormonal imbalances.
