Fever
Another early symptom that you have contracted the flu is a fever. The fever will not be like a cold fever but higher, oftentimes rising above 101 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). If you feel slightly hotter than usual, be sure to take your temperature as soon as you can.
Get plenty of rest, drink enough fluids, and take some medication to help reduce fever and inflammation, like ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Just remember that this is only going to curb the symptoms. It is not a cure.
