Obsessiveness
The life of an addict is usually centered on a specific behavior that feeds the addiction. It doesn’t really matter what a person is becoming addicted to. If the habit demands social withdrawal or neglecting other important activities, he/she will do it. An activity or substance that was once an option becomes a need capable of initiating negative responses if it is denied. This causes changes in personality and in most cases, a person starts having financial, work or academic-related problems. With time, the only thing they care about is fulfilling their need. Their obsession with the substance or behavior makes them willing to engage in destructive behavior.
