Secrecy
Most addicts tend to hide when they are indulging in their addiction because they are ashamed or because they are unable to control the problem. Secrecy is also a clear sign that a person knows what he/she is doing is wrong. Addiction affects a person’s day-to-day activities, and addicts know that a reprimand is inevitable if they are found in the act. To avoid this, they choose to keep their addiction secret. Secrecy is also preferred because most addicts aren’t willing to deal with the problem and they don’t want related conflict.
