Denial
It’s common for close friends and family members to notice issues about their loved ones long before the person in question realizes and admits they may have a problem. If your family members or close friends have brought addiction issues to your attention before, you may have a problem. The most common reaction to such a scenario is denial. Most people with addiction problems claim that they have everything under control when they are confronted. They may go ahead and argue that they can give up the addiction in an instance if they wanted which turns out to be false. Failure to acknowledge an obvious problem is a common sign of addiction.
