Surgical Treatment For Lazy Eye
The surgery for lazy eye is dependent on the type of amblyopia and the severity. If the cause of the lazy eye is droopy eyelids, then the ophthalmologist may surgically lift said eyelid. Should the condition be caused by cataracts, surgery can remove the cloudy section.
Strabismus requires an operation that strengthens the muscles to help the eyes realign normally. However, surgery can often be substituted for other treatment methods, which will be discussed below.
