Coffee Keeps You In Shape
Thank the caffeine in your morning shot of java for ramping up your metabolism throughout the day. Numerous studies have found that drinking coffee can increase your metabolism by 3-11%. Another study found that fat burning can be increased by 10% in the obese and by 29% in leaner individuals. Depending on your weight, activity level, and lean body mass, the effect of the caffeine on your metabolism will change, but it’s an impressive increase, nonetheless.
Another reason coffee helps keep you in shape is because it stimulates the nervous system. Rather, the caffeine does. When you consume caffeine, it tells the nervous system to start breaking down fat for energy, making those fatty acids free for use doing a workout. That’s why it’s no surprise that a cup of coffee can help you get a better workout, no matter what you’re doing in or out of the gym.
