Coffee Bean Birthday Suits
People usually imagine coffee beans two ways: green and brown. However, green is when the berries are immature, and brown is when the beans have already been roasted. That means the truly matured berry where the bean comes from is unknown to us. When the coffee berry turns a bright red, like a holly berry or strawberry, that means it is ripe for picking. Then, the flesh is stripped away to reveal the green bean inside.
