Write It Down
Again, technology simplifies life. You can now type almost everything you need to remember into your phone or tablet or computer for later. Shopping lists go into your memo. Phone numbers and email addresses are found in a synced address book. You never have to worry about writing something down to remember it anymore. But is that really a good thing?
Next time you want to remember something, whether it is a critical point on an exam or someone’s phone number, you should write it out completely. Don’t use shorthand. Studies have found that even without re-reading what you physically write down, you have a much better chance of actually recalling the information than you would using a keyboard.
