Oodles of Doodles
Though many people will associate random drawings with being bored and not paying attention, it is actually the opposite. If you find yourself doodling in the margins of your notebook, it is not a bad thing. In reality, doodling is keeping your brain alert and active instead of shutting down due to boredom.
One study gave people the task of doodling while listening to an uninteresting telephone conversation. Those who scribbled pictures were about to remember 29-percent more content than those who sat still and tried to listen. So, next time you find yourself slipping in and out awareness during a seminar or meeting, try doodling.
