    Vitiligo

Vitiligo is quite a common skin disease. It generally results in loss of color in patches of the skin. It is caused when the cells that produce melanin for the skin, hair, and even eyes die. Experts believe that one of the major causes related to this condition is an attack by the immune system on the melanocytes of the skin. As a result, these blotches can occur all over the body or just localized in some spots. Hives may occur when the immune system attacks what it thinks is an allergy, and this may lead to red and itchy skin that is common in people with vitiligo.
