Exercise A Little
A lot of people claim to be too busy to fit a proper workout into their lives, but that is where they are wrong. Exercise has a proven effect on everything from your physical fitness level to your outlook on life. Not only has research shown repeatedly that exercise can effectively combat depression, it will actually prevent a relapse of depression better than medication.
Exercising will also relax your muscles, deliver a nice dose of endorphins to your system, tone your heart so it pumps stronger for longer, and even increase your cognitive abilities. The best part is that you can do all of that in just 7 minutes with a higher intensity workout like Tabata or HIIT or circuit training.
Naturally, if you’re just starting out, you’re going to take it a bit slower. Aim for around 7,000-10,000 steps, sweat a little, do some push-ups, and you are already well on your way to a much happier, healthier you. In the end, you should try to get 150-300 minutes of moderate intensity activity or about 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week in order to stay physically fit and boost your happiness.
