    Don’t Block A Clear View

    Yes, masks and other disguises are necessary for Halloween; but that doesn’t mean those masks and hats should be a hindrance. Keep in mind that young children might not tell you that the mask is impairing their vision, so you should always test their peripherals. Hold a finger on both sides of their face, off to the side, and ask if they can see it or where the finger becomes visible.

    If they do not have a clear field of view, you might want to reconsider their costume. Also, consider how hot the mask could become and how that may affect your child’s breathing. You also want to get a hypoallergenic mask, since anything else might cause itching and irritation that would distract your child.
