Pain that Spreads to the Arm
We’ve all seen it, when heart attacks are portrayed in movies and television they are accompanied by the character simply grabbing their chest, as in most cases heart attacks start from the chest before pain spreads to other areas. However, in some people, before chest pain occurs, the person suffering from the heart attack experiences pain radiating down their left side. This pain is caused by a confused nervous system during the attack.
Although the heart is located in the middle of the chest, it slightly tilts towards the left side of the body. This is why the pain is experienced on one’s left side and not their right. This symptom is more common in women than in men.
