Fever
Although shingles are accompanied by flu-like symptoms which don’t usually cause an increase in body temperature, there are exceptions. In rare cases, shingles will actually cause flu-like symptoms which develop into a flu. In such a case, the body temperature can exceed 38.3 degrees Celsius.
This shingles warning sign can be treated with plenty of fluids and rest. However, you may need medical attention if the fever is experienced alongside symptoms such as breathing problems, a stiff neck or severe headaches. Fevers that persist for days and cause an increase in body temperature (above 38.9 degrees Celsius must be medically evaluated.
