Headaches
Shingles are also known to cause painful recurring headaches that can’t be alleviated by typical headache medication. The reason for this is simple; the headache is caused by virus-initiated nerve interferences, a condition which conventional painkillers can’t treat effectively. In most cases, the headache lasts for a month. In severe cases, the headache can linger for months or years; a condition referred to as postherpetic neuralgia. Typical shingles-caused headaches affect the forehead. You may need to see a doctor to get effective medication for the lingering headaches.
