    Sensitivity to Touch

Last but not least, shingles patients also complain of heightened sensitivity to touch on the chest and forehead. The sensitivity makes patients very uncomfortable. This symptom is common before the shingles rash appears. Localized areas may start feeling tender and reactive to light external stimuli. This symptom can make certain postures uncomfortable when sleeping since they put pressure on sensitive areas. Shingles-related sensitivity symptoms increase after the rash appears and then subside as the patient improves. However, the sensitivity may linger
    in some people.
