Anxiety
Everyone feels a sense of dread once in a while, but if it comes out of nowhere, it can be one of two things: a panic attack or a heart attack. Men often find themselves content one moment and then swamped with feelings of death, anxiety, worry, and the jitters. A racing heartbeat is often paired with this anxiety. Alone, tachycardia is not that serious, as it can happen with stimulants like caffeine. When paired with pain and pressure, shortness of breath, and sweating, the anxiety could be signaling that you are having a heart attack.
Some people also have palpitations, which can range from the heart skipping a beat occasionally to the rhythm changing so drastically that it feels like spasmodic throbbing. Since the body and heart both need a consistent beat to stay alive, prolonged heart palpitations are problematic. Changes in rhythm should never be overlooked.
