Chronic Fatigue
Research has done a lot to uncover the truth behind chronic fatigue and heart attack. To be clear, this is not about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Rather, this is talking about what happens when the heart is under continuous strain and can no long pump enough blood to meet the energy requirements of the body. Studies over the years, such as a 2006 article in the Heart journal talked about how poor blood flow to the muscles throughout the body show signs of heart failure and how that causes fatigue.
As the heart attack gets closer and closer to occurring, you might notice worsening fatigue and other symptoms, such as shortness of breath. Fatigue can began many months before the heart attack.
However, it should be noted that fatigue is more common in women’s heart attacks than it is for men. While this does not mean men should not be concerned about sluggishness or fatigue, it does mean you might not feel it to the same degree as a women suffering from heart disease or a heart attack would.
