A Scar Like Area
The development of a scar like patch of skin is a sign of BCC and one symptom of basal cell carcinoma should not be ignored, as its presence may indicate that the cancer is a more invasive variety. In addition, it can be larger than it appears to be on the surface.
These scar-like patches are firm to the touch, especially on the face. The area may appear yellow, white or waxy and the skin itself shiny and taut. The borders of this patch of skin are also poorly defined.
