Getting Rid of Lice
Pharmacies sell treatment for head lice over the counter. They usually contain chrysanthemum extract or a synthetic of this extract since it is toxic to them. Talk to your doctor before using these treatments on very young children, although they are usually considered safe. Unfortunately, this treatment is not always enough to get rid of head lice. If this is the case, again speak to your doctor.
The treatment is put on the scalp and left on for short period of time (make sure to read the instructions and follow them) and then usually a second follow up treatment is needed about a week and a half after the first one.
