Symptoms of Head Lice

In order to confirm a head lice infestation, a live louse (either a mature one or a young louse referred to as a nymph) must be present. It is not enough to simply see nits.

There is the common misconception that having head lice will result in an itchy scalp but that is not usually the case. It might take weeks or even months for the head lice to cause discomfort.
