Discipline with Kindness
Some people believe that children should not be disciplined in any way. However, we believe that children do need some discipline. However, we also believe that this should not be abusive in any way, physically, emotionally, or verbally. If your child believes that this is the way to communicate and solve problems, they are more likely to exhibit this behaviour in future relationships. Think about it, if they learn that yelling is the only way to solve an argument, they will do so in their own lives. One way to discipline your child is to give them a warning after unacceptable behaviour before putting them in a time out. The general rule is to leave them in time out for an amount of time that corresponds to how old they are i.e. having younger children in time out for less then older children.
