Check Your Body
After removing the tick, check your body. Ticks which transmit Lyme disease are small and difficult to see if you don’t look carefully. You should conduct thorough inspections of your entire body including your hair when coming from the outdoors and when you have pets. This is crucial if you live in regions prone to ticks or when you have been out in bushy, grassy or wooded areas.
When checking your body, ask someone to inspect your back as well as other areas you can’t see clearly/easily. You can also use a mirror when inspecting yourself. Pay close attention to joint creases and the armpits among other hairy areas since ticks love hiding in such areas. If you find any tick, remove it and inspect your body again since finding a tick suggests that many others are hiding in your body or clothes.
