Pancreatitis

The pancreas is a gland found behind the stomach. When the pancreas becomes inflamed, you will develop a number of symptoms, such as abdominal pain that stems from the upper or middle of the torso or radiates up your back. The pain is often intense enough to cause people to vomit. The pain often worsens after eating and is partnered with a fever, rapid pulse, and tenderness around the stomach.

Pancreatitis can either happen suddenly or take many years to develop. Oftentimes, people get inflammation of the pancreas after excessive consumption of alcohol. Whether acute or chronic, pancreatitis can be life-threatening. If you believe you have this condition, contact a medical professional immediately or go to the emergency room.
