Endometriosis

There are many people with uteri that experience crippling pain caused by endometriosis. This painful condition is caused by the cells in the uterus that make the lining of the walls migrating to the outside of the reproductive organs. When this happens, patients experience painful cramping that comes and goes. Other symptoms include spotty bleeding, irregular periods, infertility (if left untreated), and so on.

Since endometriosis is often misdiagnosed at first, if you suspect you have it, you should insist on getting a pelvic ultrasound. It is the main way for doctors to detect the condition. Should endometriosis be confirmed, you will be prescribed some pain relievers and may potentially need to begin hormone therapy. Surgery is also an option if the condition is severe.
