Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is not a fun condition to have, and it is very common. Symptoms include cramping, explosive diarrhea alternating with crippling constipation, bloating and gas pain. Most sufferers of the disease are women, but men experience IBS as well.
If you suspect that you have IBS, your doctor will often run tests to rule out other gastrointestinal conditions and diseases, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Should you be diagnosed with IBS, you will need to take care of your health, since the condition can cause malnutrition, rectal bleeding, infections, and weight loss. Some cases have even been connected to the development of colon cancer.
