Food Poisoning
More than one kind of virus exists that will cause food poisoning, such as norovirus or salmonella. Food poisoning will come upon you quickly—and explosively. You will know you have food poisoning the moment you feel the intense nausea. Some people do not wind up vomiting, but most will experience cramping, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and gas.
Oftentimes, people confuse food poisoning for the common stomach flu, or gastroenteritis, but these are not the same. Food poisoning with go away within a few days, while gastroenteritis can last much longer. Usually, the symptoms will subside once the digestive system has been cleaned out, but if food poisoning occurs in the elderly or the very young, special care needs to be taken, as it can be fatal.
