Wheezing
Almost everyone has experienced a bout of wheezing at least once in their life. Seasonal allergies can produce a distinct whistling sound when you breathe in/out. However, not everyone suffering from COPD experiences wheezing. Nevertheless, COPD is among the common causes of wheezing. This symptom is caused by irritation in the airways which make it harder to move air creating the wheezing sound. Inhaled bronchodilators are prescribed to manage wheezing. This symptom can be worsened by environmental irritants as is the case with many other COPD symptoms so, it’s important to avoid smoke.
