Keep The Phone Silenced
Do you constantly have people trying to get in contact with you? Are no moments truly quiet? Nothing fabricates anxiety like a phone that is ringing constantly—and at all the wrong moments. Plus, if you happen to be the person that people turn to when they are experiencing their own stressful events, getting these intrusive messages at the end of the day can get your heart and mind racing.
A simple fix for this is to keep the phone on silent when you are trying to calm down. If you aren’t waiting for an important message, then you can even turn the phone off completely until the next day. Disconnecting is not rude, nor is it selfish to not respond promptly. You need quiet to focus, relax, and wind down.
