Lupus Can Trigger Seizures
Although seizures are most often associated with epilepsy, lupus is also known to cause seizures. More information about seizures caused by lupus can be found on the Epilepsy Foundation website.
Fortunately, the rates of seizures that are the result of lupus are quite low. At the onset of the disease, only about 5% of those with lupus experience seizures. Over time this number grows to about 10%. Moreover, other neurological complications include strokes, dementia, and psychosis.
