Pain is an Indicator

Pain experienced in the joints and/or arthritic pain is experienced by almost all individuals with lupus (a whopping 95%!). Luckily, unlike the pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, the arthritis associated with lupus is less long term and does not tend to cause as much damage to the joints. The joints of the fingers, wrists, and knees are most likely to be effected.

For some reason, if a joint on an individual’s left side is effected the same is true for the other side (and vice versa).
