Thinning Eyebrows
Most people think nothing of a few missing eyebrow hairs, but pay attention if you notice that the outer edge of your eyebrows is beginning to disappear. Low levels of thyroid hormone often cause the outer third of the eyebrows to fall off. Instead of ignoring the problem and drawing in the missing spot with an eyebrow pencil, take a trip to the doctor.
In addition to causing loss of eyebrow hair, low thyroid hormones also cause weight gain, mental confusion, and fatigue. Once you begin receiving treatment for hypothyroidism, you will find that your eyebrows will grow back in.
