Muscle Spasms
More than half of all MS patients experience pain that moves through the leg and back muscles, through the joints, and causes spasms or stiffness. These muscle spasms can be rather severe and are always involuntary.
Muscle spasms from MS usually take place in the legs, but it is not uncommon for stiffness and spasms to also happen in the back muscles. Individuals with progressive MS will also experience stronger, more painful muscle spasms that result in mild stiffness.
