Gritty Discomfort Inside the Eye
If you happen to experience the unpleasant sensation of having something that feels like either sand or dirt in your eye, you might be suffering from pink eye. This microscopic grit can be more severe when you close your eyes, which can unfortunately lead to difficulty sleeping due to the extreme discomfort. Although you might feel as though rubbing your eye might be the best solution, doing so will do nothing more than irritate your eye. One way to help with this eye “grit” is to apply a warm compress (such as a small towel with warm water). Doing so could help the particles in your eye to be secreted naturally. It is suggested that a warm compressed be used four to six times a day.
