Guilt for overindulging can cause stress
Eating excess food can be fun in the moment when you’re savoring the taste of every bite of all the foods without thinking about calories. However, you can end up feeling guilty afterwards. This may especially be the case if you’ve been watching your weight. It is easy to try and skip meals afterwards to compensate for the overindulgence, but this can backfire and lead to more overeating. Watching the numbers on the scale go up and clothing bursting at the seams can create anxiety, stress, or an emotional meltdown.
