Trouble Sleeping
Another factor playing into the fatigue COPD sufferers feel is troubled, restless sleep. This happens because the airways become tighter at night. People with COPD are often woken from sleep in the early morning, when the diameter of airways have become entirely too restricted for even breathing.
Those with COPD will find that once the airways start narrowing, other symptoms arise as well; and this draws them out of sleep. Medications or a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine are often prescribed for those with COPD to get a more restful night of sleep.
