The Population Is Aging Globally
Many countries around the world are experiencing a phenomenon called “graying societies.” This means that the senior population outweighs the working population. The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the number of elderly over 60 years old will rise from 900 million to 2 billion by 2050 across the globe.
With technological and medical advancements more and more people are reaching elevated age than ever before. For instance, the senior population in France took around 150 years to go from 10 percent to 20 percent, but in places with faster development and innovation, like Brazil or China, that expanding senior population only took 10-20 years.
