Soak up the Sun
Do you want to power up your immune system? Get out in the sun. Is there is a wooded area by you? Go for a walk. Not only will the green of the leaves in the trees calm you down, but the phytoncides in the air will cause your white blood cells to work harder. Plants and trees produce phytoncides to protect themselves from bugs.
Besides boosting your immune system, getting outdoors can help decrease your blood pressure. There are many Americans who are battling hypertension. This means they are at an increased risk for heart attack and stroke. When you get outside, your mood improves. The medical community is learning more and more every day about the correlation between feeling good emotionally and being healthier.
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you don’t have enough time to go outside and smell the roses. Make the time. Your health will thank you.
