Laughter Is the Best Medicine
This is something that we hear often, but we typically think of it as being proverbial. Think back to the last time that you laughed so hard you almost peed yourself. How did you feel? You felt relieved, happy, and lighthearted.
There is a lot of research out there that shows that laughing can help you stave off flus and colds. This is because when you laugh, your stress hormone levels plummet and the cells needed for a healthy immune system skyrocket. There is even some research that suggests that laughing can increase your lifespan.
What makes you laugh? Do you have a comedian you love to listen to? Is there a TV show or movie that gets you laughing? Do your pets or children make you laugh? If so, spend more time engaging with these things.
