Health Tests Every Woman Should Consider

Eye Exam

Your eyes’ health is as important as the health of other parts of your body. When you turn 40, you should visit an optometrist once every two years to carry out eye tests. If you are predisposed to eye disease (because of genetics), you should have an eye test done once a year. The test should be done to monitor eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, high blood pressure and diabetes. Eye health should be monitored by a specialist (optometrist) as opposed to a physician. Optometrists are health care professionals specialized in examining the eyes and related visual systems for abnormalities or defects. They are the highly trained and skilled in diagnosing and managing eye disease. Traditionally, optometrists focused on correcting refractive error via spectacles.
