Forceful Brushing
Another cause of a receding gum line is brushing your teeth too vigorously or with medium or hard bristles. So think about it next time you pop a toothbrush into your maw. Are you brushing too quickly? Are you using a brush with soft bristles? Do you floss regularly? Also, what kind of toothpaste are you using? All of these factors matter in combating sensitive teeth and ensuring your mouth stays healthy.
Here are some tips for a better tooth-brushing technique:
• Keep your brush at a 45-degree angle towards to gum line
• Gently move the brush head back and forth along the teeth in even strokes
• Brush the outside, inner, and crevices of the teeth
• Do not press too hard
• When cleaning the backs of the front teeth, holding the brush vertically, not horizontally, and make short strokes
