What To Do If You Have GWS
If you believe you have GWS or have been diagnosed with a condition linked to this cluster of conditions, you could be eligible for benefits from the VA. Look into the Gulf War Registry health exam, as well as the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit registry. Dependents can also be given some benefits, too.
You can also help the VA with research on the matter to help shed light on what is truly afflicting retired service members. Currently, the Department of Veteran Affairs is conducting studies that include a multiyear survey on the general health of Gulf War veterans to see how their health is changing. The second study is conducted by the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center.
