Oregano
A long time kitchen staple in many Mediterranean recipes, the pungent and powerful flavor of oregano is one you won’t forget. But there’s another reason you want to be tasting oregano in your dishes more often. Oregano contains beta-caryophyllene oxide that has anti-cancer properties. Other important antioxidants in oregano—rosmarinic acid and thymol—have been linked with reducing oxidative stress. The nutrients manganese, calcium, iron, vitamin K, and fiber are also found in oregano, and these speed up toxin removal.
